Huacaya Open (Female) Dark Fawn

An amazing price and not a thing wrong with her; we are REALLY motivated to sell some alpacas to make room in the barn. Trying to downsize! Add $250 and you may choose any of our boys that you would like to breed her to. (A great deal! Dirk's breeding fee is usually $1000 and he'd make a super choice.) IF YOU WANT, you may leave her here on our farm until she births. Your cost will be $30/month once she is confirmed pregnant. Choose her next breeding to our own finely-fleeced Dirk or McTa ...

Grazing Hills Bradford

Huacaya Herdsire (Male) Medium Fawn

AOA# 32173253 DOB: 6/26/201012 yrs
We are EXTREMELY happy to have acquired BRADFORD from Grazing Hills Alpacas! Bradford is the half brother of our dearly departed Dirk. Both are sons of Accoyo-America DIOMEDES who is now deceased. Diomedes imprinted his handsome head and his amazing fleece characteristics to these sons of his and for that reason we jumped at the chance to have another Diomedes boy on the farm! Bradford x Vanora = Kaeleigh: our first Bradford baby born on the farm June 2020. She's a beaut! Kaeleigh is so ...

Here's one pretty, easy keeping little lady with a fleece that's SO USEABLE! She is bred to our amazing Bradford for this price, so you get two in this deal! You should expect to get a cria with a finer fleece. She has a medium rose gray sire, so I always wonder if we couldn't get a gray baby from her.

Here's what her 2022 EPD shows she is likely to give her cria:
Ranked 64% for AFD, value —.051, a bit lower AFD than breed average
Ranked 49% for SDAFD, value —.085, a more uniform fleece than average
Ranked 56% for Spin Fineness, value —.187, a finer SF than average
Ranked 30% for %F>30, value —3.435, a lesser micron >30 than average
Ranked 33% for Mean Curvature, value +1.227, more curve than average
SDMC, value +0.428: more uniformity to curve than average
Ranked 30% for %M, value —1.436, less medullation than average
Ranked 91% for Mean Staple Length, value -3.024, less staple length than average
Ranked 46% for Fleece Weight, value +.154, heavier fleece weight than average

The above only shows half the picture! Now cross the above with Bradford's EPD and here's what this 2023 cria is likely to have from this pairing:
AFD —0.958 (finer than average)
Standard deviation is —0.246 (SD lowered, that's good)
Spin fineness —1.016 (spin fineness lowered, very good)
%>30 —4.724 (fibers larger than 30 microns lowered by a LOT)
Mean curvature +2.087 (curve goes up, very good)
% medullation —1.457 (lessened)
Mean staple length —1.823 (shorter than national average)
Fleece weight +0.108 (improved by a bit than national average)

Rhiannon went through her first pregnancy, birthing without a hitch. SEPT 2013, she had a male cria, McCheyne, who is a light fawn. This boy's legs are sprinked with white. Rhiannon showed us her milking abilities, because in 4 weeks this little guy packed on 16 lbs.! The sire, Dirk, made a very nice cria!

Rhiannon is pretty calm and has a huge cuteness factor (but that's not what REALLY counts, is it?) We were surprised to get white out of a DF mom and MRG sire. We'd love to see if she can pass on that grey color of her famous papa and this match with Bradford might do it! She has a nice boxy conformation and straight legs.

Robyn Kuhl of Coarse Broads and the NAAFP cooperative sorted fleece for us and said Rhiannon had a very good secondary to primary ratio and got an 8 for brightness, 8 for uniformity, 7.5 for density with a very uniform blanket. She had a lovely 4 year histogram and was still in the grade 2 superfine category.

With purchase: Free board for 1 month. Free ultrasound to confirm pregnancy before shipping. Free delivery within 100 miles. Reproductive and 10-day live cria guarantees.
