Joeleigh is absolutely my FAVORITE girl on the farm. She's very sweet natured, quite easy to handle, curious, has beautiful conformation and a gorgeous head, and amazing fleece! She is now a mature girl and at 3 years old the plan is to breed her to Sir Galahad (a Bay Black with long staple length) for a 2024 cria. We can't wait to see what this little beauty will produce!
Joeleigh (JOE-lee) was born on June 20, 2020. As we expected from her dam, Valorie, and her sire, Hezekiah, she has gorgeous fleece! It's a crimpy light fawn, very fine, very long, and very heavy! How often do you see THAT combo???
I drool over her 2022 EPD stats! Here's what they mean for her prospective cria: TOP 6.4% in the nation! Fiber Diameter (AFD) will likely decrease by -1.662, really good!
Standard Deviation of AFD will decrease by -0.134, good! (40%)
Top 10% in the nation! Spin Fineness (SF) will decrease by -1.493, excellent!
% of Fibers > 30 micron will decrease by -3.409, amazing!
Mean Curve (MC) of fiber will increase by .171, a small help.
% Medullation (M) will increase by 0.825, (the full impact of medullation in fleece remains a question at this point in time.)
Top 1.44% in the nation! Mean Staple Length (MSL) will increase by 4.572 incredible!
Top 2% in the nation! Fleece Weight (FW) will increase by 0.858, super nice!
This little gal is growing well and nicely conformed. Just like her little mama, she's of medium size, has a long staple, very fine fleece, and an exceptionally heavy fleece weight. They look so much alike, I sometimes have trouble telling them apart. Both Joeleigh and her mom, Valorie,
have some of the heaviest fleece weights in the nation (see EPD stats). Joeleigh has a very sweet disposition, just like her mama, and has been added to our foundation females.
