Joeleigh is now a mature girl and at 2 years old has been bred to our own McCheyne. We can't wait to see what this little beauty will produce!
Joeleigh (JOE-lee) was born on June 20, 2020. As we expected from her dam, Valorie, and her sire, Hezekiah, she has gorgeous fleece! It's a crimpy light fawn, very fine, very long, and very heavy! How often do you see THAT combo???
And just look at those EPD stats! Here's what they mean for Joeleigh's prospective cria:Avg Fiber Diameter (AFD) will likely decrease by -1.586, really good!
TOP 7% in the nation!Standard Deviation of AFD will decrease by -0.1542, good!
Spin Fineness (SF) will decrease by -1.468, excellent!
Top 10% in the nation!% of Fibers > 30 micron will decrease by -3.587, amazing!
Mean Curve (MC) of fiber will increase by .029, a small help.
% Medullation (M) will increase by 0.7, (the full impact of medullation in fleece remains a question at this point in time.)
Mean Staple Length (MSL) will increase by 4.145, incredible!
Top 2% in the nation!Fleece Weight (FW) will increase by 0.732, super nice!
Top 4% in the nation! This little gal is growing well and nicely conformed. Just like her little mama, she's on the smaller side, has a long staple, very fine fleece, and an exceptionally heavy fleece weight. Both Joeleigh and her mom, Valorie, have some of the heaviest fleece weights in the nation (see EPD stats). That spells D-E-N-S-I-T-Y in my book!
Joeleigh has a very sweet disposition, just like her mama.
Stay tuned! We are expecting this little lady to be added to our foundation females.
