At this website you will find a wealth of information about alpacas, their investment potential, how to get started, the location of alpaca farms, a calendar of events, and free information for the asking.
We are members of ARI (TheAlpaca Registry, Inc.)
www.alpacaregistry.net
"The alpaca industry is fairly new to the U.S., but it has had the foresight to create a basic condition for maintaining the value of its bloodstock, namely, a breeding registry. ARI is a database housing the genealogy, blood typing, and ownership records of alpacas in North America." All Stirling Ridge alpacas are registered with ARI.
We are members of PACA (Palouse Alpaca Cooperative Association).
www.palousealpacas.com
PACA is a group of three huacaya alpaca farm, the other two in close proximity to our farm in Moscow, Idaho. We can arrange a visit, not only to our farm, but the others of the cooperative, so that your visit is "a trip worth making!" With one visit to our locale, you have the advantage of seeing many more animals with a wide range of choices in genetics, color, age, gender, and studs. Link to the websites of the other farms by visiting the PACA website.
Also visit AFCNA (The Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America).
www.afcna.com
AFCNA is cooperative of alpaca fiber producers. Members invest a portion of their annual fiber production in the cooperative and in return share in the profits of AFCNA and have their fleece converted into alpaca products available to the membership at wholesale prices. This site has many free articles to download about alpaca fiber, spinning, shearing, and micron testing.
