We welcomed Kait, overdue by almost 2 weeks, on a Sunday, June 4, 2006. Her dam, Eilinoir, gave birth unassisted. Being a first-time mom, we weren't sure just how Eili would take to her newborn. It continually amazes us how God made His creatures to instinctively "know" what to do, having never done it before.
Eilinoir took up her mothering skills like an old pro. Kait was up and nursing within an amazingly short time. Her IgG came back at 2000 (850+ being normal). Being one of our more timid animals, Eilinoir became very bold and showed her protective nature when our dog came on the scene to inspect her new baby!
Again, Kait's sire, Duncan, has shown us what he can do for a dam needing fiber improvement. Kait is significantly more dense than her dam with a nice medium and consistent crimp with a very soft hand.
